You can trust me for the most important moment of your life.

I am Anette L'Orsa and I live in Tjøme with my three children, husband, and two bonus children. I have given birth to my daughter in a hospital and my sons at home. Three very fast natural births!
On Tjøme, we run a small farm with horses, pigs, chickens, ducks, bees, and vegetables, striving to be as self-sufficient as possible.
I have worked as a doula since 2012 and have had the joy of educating and supporting many families through pregnancy and childbirth.

I am certified as a Hultén birth practitioner and doula through midwife Krista Bella Hultén and Anja Bay / Pain-Free Birth in Copenhagen. I have a two-year education in holistic midwifery from Indie Birth Midwifery School in the USA and am a Certified HypnoBirthing – The Mongan Method – practitioner. I am also a trained yoga instructor with experience in Hatha and Kundalini yoga, breathwork, and relaxation. I do not have Norwegian authorisation as a nurse or midwife and therefore do not offer medical advice or midwifery services.
I am passionate about women owning their own birth experiences and making them harmonious, safe, and extraordinary—no matter where or how they unfold. Every birth is different, and I aim to be a support primarily for the woman, but also for the couple/father/partner, so the experience of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum can be as good and beautiful as possible.
The birth experience stays with us forever and can be a transformative and empowering process for everyone involved if one feels safe, strong, and cared for.
I provide support, share knowledge, prepare, and offer care and safety throughout pregnancy, birth, and the important postpartum period.
Why a Doula?
About the Doula effect
A doula is a female companion. She provides support, encouragement, and guidance to expectant mothers and parents before, during, and after birth. This ensures continuity and security throughout the birth process.
A doula does not perform any medical tasks or take on any medical responsibilities. Instead, she focuses on being a safe, calming, and always-present support person who knows the mother's wishes, thoughts, and feelings about the birth. The doula accompanies the expectant parents throughout the pregnancy, getting to know their needs.
She offers alternative pain relief methods, such as massage, the rebozo technique, homeopathy, and other relaxation techniques. A doula provides support regardless of whether the birth takes place in a hospital, at home, or via C-section. If the birth takes place in a hospital or a home birth ends in a transfer, the doula cooperates with the established system and respects the midwives' work and area of responsibility. Through their knowledge of births and the birthing family, doulas can facilitate cooperation at the birthplace, whether at home or in the hospital.
Midwives and other professionals regard doulas as members of the family, and they provide security for the family and the woman giving birth throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period.
There is a significant amount of research showing that women who receive continuous care throughout the birthing process have shorter and less complicated labors, use less pain medication, and report a more positive birth experience.
This effect is partly due to the fact that a doula helps the woman feel safe and relaxed and reduces fear and anxiety. Fear and anxiety trigger the production of adrenaline, which inhibits the natural birth hormones oxytocin and endorphins.
"The presence of a doula throughout the birth process can reduce the rate of cesarean sections by up to 45%, shorten the length of labor by 25%, reduce the use of pain relief by 31%, and reduce the use of labor-inducing drugs by 50%.” — The so-called Doula Effect (Klaus Marshall MD, The Doula Book)
